In Acts 4, Luke is resetting the story being told so far in this book. The first 4½ chapters are full of busy front-line activity for the disciples. In this new section of the story, Luke reminds us of who these people are — and who they are becoming — as they continue to be profoundly influenced by the resurrection of Jesus and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Despite the length of their faith journey, they now have deep convictions that God is honouring. They are increasingly becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus.
