Throughout our 5 values you’ll read words like “local and global neighbourhoods” and “sharing with many people and places.” We want to be active in caring for and supporting good work that is happening in our neighbourhoods. We want to be a church that models the generosity of Jesus.
To prioritize financial generosity, we have made it a practice to set aside 5% of the general funds donated to Living Waters Church, to give away. We want to be open-hearted, and open-handed with local organizations that do good work in our neighbourhoods. We've held to this practice for many years - giving away over $800,000 in the past 10 years.
This December, we are giving:
- $45,000 to 8 local organizations - with focus on caring for the poor, those without homes, the widow, the vulnerable, the orphan and the prisoner. These organizations are serving Langley and surrounding neighbourhoods in such a beautiful way.
- $20,000 to 2 ministries - serving a neighbourhood and university campuses.
- Community Life Church in Port Alberni
- University Christian Ministries serving students at SFU, BCIT, and UFV.
- $10,000 to our 10 Global Workers as a year-end gift beyond our regular monthly support.
Total of $65,000 from our Generosity Fund & $10,000 from our Global Work Fund.
