Generosity Giving

We want to be open-hearted and open-handed, generous with our neighbours locally and globally. We’re compelled by Jesus’ love to serve and share with the capacity the Holy Spirit gives. 

For over 15 years, we have had a practice to set aside 5% of general funds donated to Living Waters Church, to give away at various times of the year. We call this fund our “Generosity Fund.”

Out of this fund, we are able to give to organizations and projects locally in our neighbourhoods that serve the vulnerable, the unhoused, the elderly, among others.

This December, we are giving over $72,000 to 10 organizations:

$7,500 each to:

• Boys and Girls Club of Langley - giving kids a safe place to belong when they aren’t at home or at school.
  

• Gateway of Hope - Helping the unhoused. Langley’s only shelter.

• Inclusion Langley Child Development Centre - supporting children and adults with developmental & intellectual needs.
  

• Langley Food Bank - They express God’s heart and compassion toward those with needs… and one way is providing them with food.
  

• Langley Seniors Resource Centre - They offer programs and services to the many seniors in Langley, include a bathing program which we are subsidizing.
  

• Mercy Canada - Helping men and women find freedom through Christ-centred counselling, resources and support.

• Wagner Hills Farm Society - A place of healing for those in recovery.
  

• Young Life – Capernaum (Youth with Disabilities) - Helping care for youths with disabilities – helping them know they are invited, celebrated, and needed.

• Church Planting in Victoria, BC: Pastor Brett & Natalie Donald - Partnering to start new churches and establish an inter-denominational hub of disciple-making, church planting, and prayer.

We are also able to give $4,600 to:

• Douglas Park Community School - to purchase school sports team jerseys and school t-shirts

We’re able to serve and share with our neighbourhoods because of the deep commitment and generosity of our community, expressed in so many ways. As we approach the end of the year, we invite you to continue giving and help us make an even greater impact. Thank you!
