We are excited to announce Joanna Skucas as our new Global Worker.
Living Waters has a history of being committed to supporting those who are sharing Jesus on university campuses. For the past 10+ years, we have supported John Engels as he oversaw campus ministry initially across the province and then our nation for the past three years.
Recently our Global Work team has felt a call to become involved in local university work. In the lower mainland of BC we are surrounded by many university campuses and we have felt we had a role to play in supporting the local work on those campuses. In discussion with John Engels we have moved our financial support to Joanna Skucas.
Joanna’s university career started at Simon Fraser University in 2009 where she first heard about UCM (University Christian Ministries). UCM became her home away from home as she was welcomed into a community of students who were also trying to figure out how faith and academics could go hand in hand. During her math degree, Joanna encountered Jesus in a fresh and dynamic way through UCM. After completing her Bachelor of Science, she sensed God calling her to step into a full-time ministry role with UCM. She joined the BCIT (British Columbia Institute of Technology) staff team and has loved that community ever since!

Living Waters will have the opportunity to meet Joanna in person on Sunday, November 5.
