The sheer power we find in Jesus' statement, "I am the resurrection and the life," is hard for us to fully grasp. We live in a world where that resurrection and life are still being worked out, and sometimes it seems hard to see it in its fullness. We give ourselves over to the truth — that the grave has no claim on us, because Jesus is the victory both now and in the future when He makes all things right.
We trust Jesus despite our circumstances and believe that even when we can’t see it, He's working those things out in us for His ultimate glory, and for the glory of the Father, through the power of the Holy Spirit. We pray that this week, "mark us anew as belonging to you, that we may walk in the resurrection and the life you’ve promised us."
