Rivers

If you’ve been tracking with us over the past months, you’ll know that we’ve been exploring the book of Acts. We’ve learned a lot about what happened when Jesus’ followers were filled with the Holy Spirit. Jesus promised that anyone who came to Him would experience "rivers of living water flowing from within them." In the book of Acts, we see what those rivers of living water look like: it looks like Jesus’ followers telling everyone about Jesus’ death and resurrection, and the new life that is available to anyone who would believe; it looks like healings and jail breaks and other miracles giving credibility to that message; it looks like formerly fearful followers stepping out in confident boldness because of their intimate experience with the presence of God.

We are, for this month, exploring what it’s like to be filled with Rivers of Living Water. To do that, we’re looking at different truths the Bible says about the Spirit:

• Repentance: The Spirit is Holy
• Dependence: The Spirit is Power
• Expectation: The Spirit is Promised
