There are some exciting things that our Mids get to be involved with this summer! One of the ways we would like to see our students engage with us this summer will be during the week of July 10-14, 2023.

  • Arts Camp - The first opportunity to engage would be as a Junior Leader at Arts Camp. This is a great space for students who have a heart to serve in our church community. Arts camp has been running for many years and is such a success because of the help of the Junior Leaders.
  • Nanoose Bay Mids Camp - The second option would be attending a week of summer camp at Nanoose Bay Pentecostal Camp on Vancouver Island. This is a great chance for students to build community, form their faith and create memories through camp activities. Camp is offered for students going into grades 6-8.

These awesome events are happening during the same week, July 10-14. We'd encourage our Mids students to choose one of these events to engage with as it will be formative to faith, will build community, and will create lasting memories. As we plan for the summer we would ask that students or families would take the time to fill out this form, indicating which event you are planning on engaging with. You can access the form HERE!

Here are some reasons why you should participate in:

Arts Camp

Arts Camp has been an integral part of our church community for the last decade-plus! It has always provided a place for students in grades 6, 7 & 8 to serve as Junior Leaders. This is something our church has put a high priority on as it’s an opportunity for students to be developed as leaders and engage with the broader scope of the church. Students who serve during this week help in various areas; assistant group leader, crafts leader, game coordinator, worship team, or snack team. This week is free for students who are wanting to serve. There will be more information sent out later to those who want to participate as Junior Leaders. Dee-Ana Goodman, our children’s pastor will be in contact with those students who are interested.

Nanoose Bay Mids Camp

Camp can be a formative experience in the lives of students! Camp is offered for students going into grades 6-8. Summer camp has been something that Living Waters has offered in years past, but hasn’t been offered for a while! Nanoose Bay Camp is on Vancouver Island and is a Pentecostal camp! There is a high emphasis on activity and spiritual formation. Students who attend will compete on teams, against other teams in various sports and activities. However, the primary focus of the week would be the morning and afternoon chapels. Students stay in cabins and have the option to bunk with friends. Students who are wanting to attend camp must sign up through Nanoose’s website. In the signup process, you can indicate that your home church is Living Waters, and you can indicate which friends you would want to share a cabin with. The cost for a week of camp at Nanoose is roughly 370$ and you can complete the registration here: Nanoose Registration! We have yet to figure out rides from Langley to Nanoose, however, as more students sign up we intend for transportation to be made available for students who need it. Although we cannot promise this until we are closer to the date.

We would love for students to engage in one of these two events. We recognize that not everyone will be able to participate either, due to vacations or other commitments. However, if you are wanting to participate in one of these events please indicate which one you will be participating in. You can do so HERE!

If you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask Ethan Newman.
