The general tone on the morning of Jesus' resurrection was not of relief, joy, or celebration, as Easter Sundays are celebrated now. Instead, the first people to see and hear of Jesus' empty tomb were left wondering, or simply couldn’t believe what they were hearing. And this is because no one expected to find an empty tomb that Sunday morning.
