In these final moments, Jesus, before His ascension, is intent on helping the disciples put all the pieces together. One of the key priorities was to solidify in the minds and hearts of the disciples the words spoken by Jesus in Luke 24:48: “You are witnesses of these things.” Perhaps this is a bit of a capstone statement, and maybe best thought of as a declaration over the disciples' lives.
