Well done, Living Waters!

We kicked off the season putting up Christmas lights and decorations in the gardens of Park Place, Fort Langley Seniors Community. The next day over 40 residents attended the Carol Service we provided.

The following weekend found several of our volunteers serving at the Breakfast with Santa for children with special needs. Do you know that 491 adults and children attended this event! That is huge! (There were also many hands from our community helping with the preparation for this event the week before).

That evening our volunteers were out in force again serving at the Special Olympics Christmas dinner and dance. 175 were in attendance, the vast majority of them being Special Olympians!

The next week saw 90 Christmas gift bags and handmade cards packed and written lovingly for women who are currently in a local federal institution.

Our volunteers were busy the following day providing help for the Best Babies Christmas lunch. Young single mom’s and their little ones were given a lovely lunch and gifts, many of them provided by people from our Willoughby location.

Members of our community also shopped, wrapped and put together 17 Christmas Hampers for those in need; this represents approximately 46 people, many of them children, who will have a merrier Christmas because of our generosity!

Our Helping Hands also served the broader community of Langley by singing carols at the Magic of Christmas Festival in downtown Langley, where over 5,000 people were expected to attend.

We then had "The Gift" at our Fort Langley location that served the community of Fort Langley sharing the true meaning of Christmas.

In addition to these two events, our volunteers were also out ringing the bells for the Salvation Army Gateway of Hope.

So, with just over 400 pairs of hands, our community served literally thousands of people this Christmas! And the majority of those were up close and personal. Thank you for your willingness to reach out to our community and celebrate Christmas together in such a beautiful way.
