As we've been in this letter to the Thessalonian church, and we've been looking at the context in each case, in order to understand the exegesis—that is, the reality of what this letter meant for those first people it was written to—to then understand the hermeneutics—what it means for us today—we find ourselves in 1 Thessalonians 5:9–11, where Paul writes about the Day of the Lord.
